Experiencing Healing Through a Relationship
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Associate, and I practice under the supervision of Treva Barham, LPC-S. I earned my Bachelor's in Communication from Texas A&M and my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from East Texas Baptist University. I have past experience in community and non-profit counseling centers. Currently, I split my time between this practice and Sierra at Southlake, an outpatient clinic that offers a partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program. I love to learn about great ways to provide counseling, and I am happy to discuss the different approaches I may integrate into treatment. I am also able to integrate faith and spirituality in the therapy process, but it is not a requirement.
My own mental health journey has given me a unique perspective so that I can walk alongside my clients as they share their story. I believe the work done through the counseling relationship can create long lasting emotional health if both of us are willing to engage whole-heartedly in the process.
Whether I am working with a five-year-old adjusting to a new environment, a teenager dealing with depression, or an established adult suffering from grief, my goal is to create an atmosphere of vulnerability, honesty, and trust so that my clients can feel safe to express whatever burden they carry. Our sessions will likely be full of tears, hard questions, and hopefully a good bit of laughter. My aim is to help my clients discover the source of their suffering and create new relational and emotional patterns that lead to a fulfilling, meaningful life. I hope you will allow me to be a part of your journey.
